With a built-in GPS antenna, the F550 can embed time, speed, and location data into recorded footages to provide additional information surrounding an event – which could be crucial for insurance reports. The user can also review the driving history on Google Maps integrated with the PC / Mac Viewer.

This feature can be useful for student drivers who are new on the road, helping them to select their familiar or regular routes for more confident driving.

THINKWARE Proprietary Technology:

The Dual Save technology is specially designed to save recorded footages in both the Micro SD card and the built-in internal memory under incident recording mode. It works as an additional safeguard against potential loss of your crucial footage caused by damages from a severe collision. In the event that the memory card gets damaged, the Dual Save Technology guarantees a backup copy of the video in the internal memory.

Various Autonomous Recording Modes

The F550 supports various recording modes that you can choose from according to your needs: Continuous Recording, Incident Recording, Motion Detection Recording, and Manual Recording.

  Continuous Recording Mode

  Continuous Recording Mode is activated automatically when you start the engine. Recorded videos are saved in one-minute segments with an auto-looping mechanism.

  Incident Recording Mode

  The Active Impact Monitoring System will automatically store the ten seconds prior to and after a collision registered by the 3-axis G-Sensor.

  Parking Surveillance Mode

  The F550 supports parking surveillance mode to monitor your vehicle when its ignition is off. A combination of motion detection and impact monitoring secures your vehicle from common hit-and-run incidents even during your absence.

  * Automatic switching mode feature is enabled with optional hardwiring cable installation. Professional installation is highly recommended.

  Manual Recording

  Similar to a video camera, you can use Manual Recording Mode to capture events that occurs in front of you whether or not your vehicle is involved. This feature allows you to capture all significant moments such as a friendly deer approaching your car, or a dangerous road rage scenario as useful evidence.

Security LED

From 13 different LED lamps, you can easily and accurately identify the present status of THINKWARE DASH CAM F550. In fact, it may remind you of KITT, the advanced, artificially intelligent car from Knight Rider, an American television series. The nine security LED lamps at the front displays operation and monitoring status of the device indicating the current mode of the DASH CAM. The four LED lamps on the back show the status of the rear view camera, system, GPS, and recording modes.

Anti-Vibration Mounting

A compact 3M tape adhesive mount eliminates vibration, windshield glare, and replaces the bulky suction cups which often obstruct the driver’s view of the road.

Thermal Self-Protection

With its specially designed heat discharge construction and the built-in thermal sensor, the F550 protects itself and its data against intense heat by automatically turning off to prevent overheating of the device.

Fail-Safe Recording

In the event that the power gets disconnected after an accident, Fail-safe recording of the F550 uses the Super Capacitor for backup power to ensure safe storage of any recording in progress – so you can be assured your valuable data will be securely stored under any circumstances.
